Jesús Zurita was born in 1974 in Ceuta, Spain, where he lived until his 18th. When he turned 15 he decided to dedicate himself to the graphic arts. He started exhibiting his drawings in public places. These drawing at that time were very much influenced by the world of comic books.
At 18 he was admitted to the Granada Art School where intended to extend his interest in the comic book world. However, meeting some of his future colleagues, and the discovery of Rothko, made him change direction.
Inspired by artist such as Holbein, Vermeer, Van Eyk, Giotto, Bill Viola, Richard Serra, Anselm Kiefer, Luc Tuymans, Martin Kippenberger, Margritte, and Ingres, he decided to enter the world of painting.
Apart from Spain, Zurita has exhbited in Italy, Mexico, Switserland and Japan. In addition to this his work was presented at important art fairs such as ARCO, Miart and Balelatina Hot Art.
